Tooth Contouring & Reshaping at Center One Dental Clinic
Is there a small defect in your smile that always draws your eye in the mirror? A chip in a front tooth, some worn edges, or shallow pits or grooves in the tooth enamel. These are all minor issues, but they do stand in the way of having a perfect smile. If you suffer from one or more of these problems even to the extent of a minor fracture or overlap, they all can be fixed using a procedure known as tooth contouring and reshaping.
In this procedure, a Dentist removes small amounts of surface enamel to make the tooth smooth and perfect. Once all imperfections are eradicated, we start the process of smoothing and polishing all the surrounding teeth.
Because it is relatively inexpensive and noninvasive, it is a good place to start changing your smile to the one that you have always wanted.
Who Should Consider Tooth Contouring & Reshaping?
Contouring is an effective method to correct minor imperfections, such as:
- Fixing small chips
- Curing bulged enamel
- Adjusting uneven teeth
- Adjusting the length of the canines
Contouring removes crevices or overlaps between teeth in which plaque accumulates. Contouring is not recommended if your teeth have substantial imperfections and it’s not a substitute for veneers.
